The next time an unfamiliar number pops up on your phone, Governor J.B. Pritzker says you may want to take the call. An important component in the fight against COVID-19 is contact tracing, where those who have been around someone who has recently tested positive are notified that they may have been exposed says the Governor.
As the state continues to ramp up it’s contact tracing program, the Governor says it’s important not to ignore the phone when it rings. It could be public health staff calling to let you know that you’ve been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the Corobavirus. He says this is especially important in case you’re already infected but don’t know it yet.
The contact tracer will provide information about testing and ask you to self-quarantine for 14 days.
