Southern Illinois University is preparing to welcome back students to Carbondale. Officials have released a plan that offers a mix of in-person, online, and hybrid courses and includes a number of precautions. Chancellor Austin Lane says the plan was created using poll results from students, faculty and staff. The president of the SIU Faculty Association says that bringing students back to campus is a roll of the dice.
