The Macon County Health Department releases the number of tests performed each Monday and Friday. As of Monday, 7,913 tests have been performed in Macon County. Since Friday’s release, we have had one newly-confirmed case of COVID-19. Therefore, our overall number is 228 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Macon County.
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday announced 738 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Illinois, including 14 additional confirmed deaths, the lowest number reported since March.
Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 142,461 cases, including 14 deaths, in 101 counties in Illinois. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 26,918 specimens for a total of 1,571,896. The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity for cases as a percent of total test from June 22 –June 28 is 2.7%.
