Illinois’ senior U.S. Senator says Illinois needs federal money, and not just for pensions. Senator Dick Durbin says the state needs federal help to replace the money lost during the coronavirus shutdown. Durbin says the state’s members of Congress have tried to make it clear to President Trump that Illinois has more needs than simply its 130-billion-dollar pension debt. Durbin says he’s told the President that Illinois has the same needs as every other state in the nation.
