Commissioner Rob Manfred has announced that teams can lay off or cut the pay of major and minor league managers, coaches, trainers and full-time scouts beginning May 1.
Manfred said he is suspending Uniform Employee Contracts seeing as because of the absence of games caused by the coronavirus pandemic, some revenue streams will be lost or substantially reduced, and clubs will not have sufficient funds to meet their financial obligations.
