Wayne Gretzky said he thinks the NHL will resume play this summer, with “The Great One” believing that the leadership in the United States and Canada will be able to figure it out. Gretzky, who is self-quarantining in California, said “I really believe that we’ll see hockey and some sort of other sports in June, July and August, albeit in a different way, but I really see it coming to fruition.
I think it’s going to happen.”
Gretzky also believes Alex Ovechkin has a good chance of breaking his all-time record of 894 goals. The 34-year-old Ovechkin, whose 48 goals this season are tied for the NHL lead, has 706 goals in his 15-year career.
