Millikin University and Decatur Public Schools have both made personal protective equipment donations to local hospitals.
Millikin donated the PPE from their chemistry, nursing and biology departments. The donation included around 200 pairs of safety glasses as well as up to 60 boxes of nitrile gloves. The donation was divided between Decatur Memorial Hospital and HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital.
This donation follows a donation by Decatur Public Schools. On Wednesday, DPS donated PPE items from their science labs such as: gloves, goggles and gowns. DPS also donated over 120 iPads to HSHS St. Mary’s Hospital which will be used by healthcare workers, as well as those who are/will be isolated.
