We will be sharing updates about the status of the COVID-19 virus everyday as information is made available to us by the Macon County Crisis Communication Team.
Thus far, ten tests have been completed in Macon County, with eight negative test results and two test results pending. Additionally, four Macon County residents have been tested outside of Macon County, with two negative test results and two test results pending. There is also a possibility that a provider has submitted and/or will submit a test to a private lab and the MCHD may not be notified, therefore unable to track that submission.
Currently Illinois has 1285 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 12 deaths, and 9868 have been tested, these numbers are provided from coronavirus.illinois.gov
We want to remind people that if you are experiencing possible symptoms of COVID-19, that you should not go to the Emergency Room.
These are mild symptoms that come with the virus.
Because testing is not widely available to the general public, it is imperative that community members, whether feeling ill or well, implement social distancing best practices to limit the
The disease has hit all age groups in Illinois. As more testing is made available we are expecting to see more positive cases in Illinois.
Stay home and avoid going out if it can be helped. Avoid gatherings of 10 people or more if you can.
