Decatur Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe has just signed a Proclamation and Declaration of Emergency due to the COVID-19 Epidemic on March 23.
This gives the mayor stricter control over the city of Decatur. It would allow her to make additional closures and even protocols for the city to follow.
It is unknown whether she is planning to use any of the power this act would give at the moment or if it’s strictly precautionary for if things continue to escalate quickly.
