Any days missed through March 31 will not need to be made up according to the Illinois State Board of Education.
The days missed will be designated as “Act of God” days and won’t count against the required number of school days mandated for instruction, according to spokeswoman Jackie Matthews.
Some schools have been postponed to April 7 and it is not known yet if they will consider those “Act of God” days as well.
Schools should be trying to move to online material and courses but many were not prepared for or taught the proper course of action for teaching the Illinois School curriculum online.
