Heyman cites industry speculation that Girardi may want to remain a free agent so he can land a job as manager of the Cubs or White Sox. Girardi played with the Cubs before managing the Marlins and the Yankees.

LaVine has scored at least 30 points in the first three games of the season for the winless Bulls. Jabari Parker added 20 points for Chicago, which returns home to host the Hornets tomorrow.
