(St. Louis, MO) — Brooks Koepka [[ KEP-kuh ]] held off a surge from Tiger Woods and won the 100th PGA Championship. Koepka carded a four-under 66 in Sunday’s final round to finish at 16-under for the tournament. Woods fired a six-under 64 on Sunday and finished alone in second place at 14-under. He just missed out on his 15th major.

(Jacksonville, FL) — The Jaguars are suspending star cornerback Jalen Ramsey and defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. each a week of training camp. Fowler’s punishment was for his part in a post-practice incident on Sunday. Ramsey’s profanity-laced tirade on Twitter attacking the media led to his suspension.

(Bourbonnais, IL) — Training camp is over for the Bears. The team headed back to Lake Forest yesterday after their final practice at Olivet Nazarene University. The Bears travel to Denver tomorrow ahead of their third preseason game against the Broncos Saturday night. They kick off the regular-season September 9th against the Packers at Lambeau Field.

(College Park, MD) — Maryland head football coach D.J. Durkin is being placed on administrative leave. The university made the move Saturday as an investigation continues into the death of offensive lineman Jordan McNair. McNair died of heat stroke on June 13th. He was originally hospitalized on May 29th after having a seizure during a team workout.

(Chicago, IL) — Carlos Carrasco threw seven strong innings for the Indians as they held off the White Sox 9-7 yesterday at Guaranteed Rate Field. Carrasco struck out nine and earned his 14th win. The South Siders rallied with four runs in the ninth inning but came up short. Adam Engel fell a double shy of the cycle and drove in three runs for the South Siders, who dropped to 42-75.

(Kansas City, MO) — Yadier Molina hit the go-ahead two-run single in the 7th as the Cardinals beat the Royals 8-2 in Kansas City. Paul DeJong drilled a two-run homer in the ninth for St. Louis, which won its fifth straight and completed their first I-70 Series sweep at Kauffman Stadium since 2012. Tyson Ross allowed two earned runs over six innings for the win in his Cards’ debut. St. Louis rookie Patrick Wisdom recorded two base hits, including an RBI-single, in his first major league start.

(Chicago, IL) — David Bote crushed a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning as the Cubs edged the Nationals 4-3 at Wrigley Field. Cole Hamels struck out nine batters in seven innings and Justin Wilson picked up the win. The Cubs are first in the NL Central at 68-and-49. Max Scherzer struck out 11 batters across seven frames of scoreless ball and Ryan Madson was charged with the loss.

(Brooklyn, MI) — Kevin Harvick is celebrating his seventh win of the season after capturing the checkered flag at Sunday’s Consumers Energy 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Harvick led 108 of the 200 laps on his way to his 44th career victory. Brad Keselowski finished second, followed by points leader Kyle Busch. Busch is now 62 points ahead of Harvick in the standings.
