>>Rockets, Warriors Advance To Western Conference Finals
(Undated) — The Rockets and Warriors are on a collision course in the NBA’s Western Conference finals. The Rockets beat the Jazz 112-102 in Houston to win their Western semifinal in five games. The Warriors picked off the Pelicans 113-104 in Oakland to close out that Western semi in five games. Houston will host Golden State in Game One on Monday.

(St. Louis, MO) — The Cardinals had more hits than errors in a 7-1 loss to the Twins at Busch Stadium. St. Louis had just two hits, but made three errors in getting swept in the two-game Interleague series. Jose Martinez homered in the first for the Cards. Carlos Martinez gave up four runs, but just two earned, in five innings to fall to 3-and-2 with the loss.
>>Cubs Clip Marlins
(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs spotted the Marlins a 3-0 lead in the first inning before rallying for a 4-3 win at Wrigley Field. Victor Caratini tied the game with an RBI fielder’s choice in the seventh and put Chicago in front with another fielder’s choice grounder in the eighth. Carl Edwards Jr. got the win and Brandon Morrow his eighth save. The series finale is today.
>>Pirates Rally Past White Sox
(Chicago, IL) — Corey Dickerson went 4-for-5 with two RBI as the Pirates outslugged the White Sox 10-6 in Chicago. Welington Castillo blasted two homers and drove in three in the loss. Lucas Giolito surrendered four runs over four frames to blow an early 4-0 lead. Chris Volstad gave up three runs in an inning of relief to take the loss. Chicago is on a four-game slide.
>>Yankees Edge Red Sox To Pull Even In AL East
(Bronx, NY) — The Yankees and Red Sox are all tied atop the AL East. Aaron Judge singled in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the Yankees beat the Red Sox 3-2 in the first of a three-game series in the Bronx. Giancarlo [[ john carlo ]] Stanton hit two solo homers for New York, which has won 16 of its last 17 games. Both teams are 25-and-10 overall.
>>Mariners’ Paxton No-Hits Blue Jays
(Toronto, Ontario) — Mariners pitcher James Paxton is the first Canadian pitcher in major league history to throw a no-hitter in Canada. He held the Blue Jays without a hit in a 5-0 win in Toronto. Paxton struck out seven and walked three while needing just 99 pitches to mow through the Jays. He’s now 2-and-1 on the season. Marcus Stroman took the loss.
>>Reds Acquire Harvey From Mets
(Cincinnati, OH) — The Reds are taking a shot on embattled pitcher Matt Harvey. They’ve acquired the 29-year-old right-hander from the Mets for catcher Devin Mesoraco. The Mets also get nearly 5.8-million-dollars in cash. Harvey was designated for assignment on Saturday after refusing to go to the minors. He’s 0-and-2 with a 7.00 ERA in eight games this year.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Colts are adding some depth along the defensive line. Indy signed free agent defensive end Chris McCain yesterday. McCain has played in 35 games over the course of four seasons with four different NFL teams. The last team McCain played for was with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2017 where he appeared in 15 games and had 28 tackles and five sacks.
>>Saints RB Ingram Suspended Four Games For PEDs
(New York, NY) — The New Orleans Saints will begin the season without running back Mark Ingram. He’s been suspended for the first four games after violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs. Ingram will miss games against Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Atlanta and the Giants. He can still participate in all offseason practices and preseason games.
>>Knicks Introduce Fizdale As New Head Coach
(New York, NY) — David Fizdale is in place as the new head coach of the New York Knicks. The former Memphis Grizzlies head coach was formally introduced yesterday. He becomes the 29th head coach in franchise history, replacing the fired Jeff Hornacek. The Knicks finished 29-and-53 this season, the fifth consecutive year they’ve missed the playoffs.
