(Springfield, IL) — Maybe new dorms aren’t coming to the Quincy veterans home. Governor Bruce Rauner’s office yesterday said that all options to fix the troubled home where dozens of people have gotten sick or died from Legionnaires disease are on the table. The head of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs told lawmakers earlier in the week that they were looking at building new dorms as a way to deal with the Legionnaires outbreak. The governor’s office said simply replacing the decades-old plumbing at the home is still an option.
