(Decatur, IL) — Macon County Environmental Management is counting on the favorable weather forecast for Saturday, March 3, 2018, by scheduling another Pop-up Electronics Recycling Collection for those who register for an appointment.
Unwanted electronics, such as TVs, entertainment devices, and computer equipment, will be collected during the event. Most electronic items will be accepted free except for TVs/monitors at $10 each. Residents may register for an appointment online at www.MaconGreen.com or by calling the Macon County Environmental Management Department at 217-425-4505. The collection event will be held in the parking lot of the Macon County Environmental Management Recycling Center at 1750 North 21st Street Decatur.
Up to ten residential electronic items will be accepted from each confirmed registrant, including televisions/monitors (limit of 3 with pre-payment of $10 each), computers, laptops, printers, control boxes, media players, game consoles, cables, and controllers. Since the collection is outdoors in the midst of winter, Macon County Environmental Management scheduled the event in a pop-up fashion, counting on Saturday’s suitable weather forecast. Additionally, registration is now open for the regularly scheduled Electronics Collections, which begin with collections on April 3 and April 21.
These collections provide residents with an opportunity for recycling electronic devices that are banned from landfills per Illinois regulations. Further information may be obtained at www.MaconGreen.com or by calling Macon County Environmental Management Department at 217-425-4505.
