>>U.S. Wins Gold In Women’s Hockey
(PyeongChang, South Korea) — Team USA is bringing home the gold in women’s hockey at the PyeongChang Olympics. Jocelyne Lamoureux scored the winning goal in the shootout to give the U.S. a 3-2 win over Canada in the gold medal game. America had not won gold in women’s hockey since the 1998 Winter Games.

(PyeongChang, South Korea) — Mikaela Shiffrin is bringing home some more hardware as Lindsey Vonn’s Olympic career ends in disappointment. Shiffrin won the silver medal in the women’s Alpine combined. Lindsey Vonn finished off the podium after skiing off course and failing to complete the slalom portion of the event. Vonn had the fastest time in the downhill earlier in the day and was the final skier to take a run at the slalom.

(Mesa, AZ) — The Cubs begin Cactus League play tomorrow afternoon versus the Brewers in Maryvale. Chicago continues spring training today in Mesa. The Cubs announced Michael Roth, Eddie Butler and Jen-Ho Tseng are starting their first three exhibition games.

(Jupiter, FL) — The Cardinals are just a day away from the start of Grapefruit League play in Florida. They will hold their final full-squad workout today in Jupiter before beginning the exhibition slate tomorrow against the Marlins. All MLB clubs will wear Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School hats before their first game to show support after the Parkland, Florida shootings.

(Chicago, IL) — The Bulls return from the All-Star break to face the 76ers tonight at the United Center. Chicago is moving forward with their youth since they’re out of the playoff race at 20-and-37. The Sixers are 30-and-25.
>>Blackhawks Sinks Senators In Shootout
(Chicago, IL) — Nick Schmaltz scored what turned into the game-winning goal as the Blackhawks beat the Senators 3-2 in a shootout at the United Center. Patrick Kane and Artem Anisimov each lit the lamp for Chicago, which has won two-of-three following an eight-game losing streak. Anton Forsberg stopped 32 shots in the victory. The Blackhawks host the Sharks tomorrow night.

(St. Louis, MO) — The Blues are off tonight. They’re back on the ice tomorrow night as the Winnipeg Jets invade Scottrade Center. St. Louis is coming off a 3-2 home loss to San Jose on Tuesday. It was the fourth straight loss for the Blues, who are fourth in the Central Division with 72 points. They hold the top wild card in the West, one point ahead of the Wild.

(Champaign, IL) — Illinois takes a shot at number-nine Purdue tonight at the State Farm Center. The Fighting Illini are coming off a 20-point loss to Michigan State that sent them to 13-and-16 and 3-and-13 in the Big Ten. Purdue is 24-and-5 and 13-and-3.
>>NBA Returns From All-Star Break Tonight
(Undated) — The NBA is back from the All-Star break tonight with a TNT doubleheader. The Cavaliers play the Wizards at Quicken Loans Arena followed by the Warriors welcoming the Clippers to ORACLE Arena. There’s four other games on the slate.
>>Eagles’ Jeffrey Has Significant Injury
(Philadelphia, PA) — Eagles wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey is in danger of possibly missing some of the regular season. According to ESPN, Jeffrey will miss at least six months due to surgery to repair a tear to his right rotator cuff. He’s expected to it out all of training camp and the preseason. The hope is for Jeffrey to be ready for the games that matter.
