>>Blues Blasted By Capitals

 

(St. Louis, MO)  —  The Blues gave up four straight goals in the second period and lost 7-3 loss to the Capitals at Scottrade Center.  Alexander Steen tallied twice in the third and Jaden Schwartz also scored for St. Louis.  The Blues are third in the Central with 51 points.  They skate at Winnipeg tomorrow.

 

>>Colts’ Luck Has Shoulder Surgery

 

(Indianapolis, IN)  —  Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is recovering from right shoulder surgery.  Colts owner Jim Irsay announced the news on Twitter and said Luck will be ready for the start of the 2017 season.  Luck threw for 4,240 yards, 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 15 games this season.

 

>>Bulls’ Butler Named All-Star Starter

 

(Chicago, IL)  —  Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler is going to the All-Star Game for the third straight year.  Butler was named a starter for the Eastern Conference last night.  Butler is averaging 24.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this season.

 

>>Westbrook Left Out As All-Star Starters Revealed

 

(New York, NY)  —  The league’s leading scorer isn’t starting in this year’s NBA All-Star Game.  Thunder guard Russell Westbrook was left out of the Western Conference’s starting five last night.  Steph Curry and Kevin Durant of the Warriors, Houston’s James Harden, San Antonio’s Kawhi Leonard and the Pelicans’ Anthony Davis will start for the West.

 

>>Report:  Seahawks May Be Docked Second-Round Pick

 

(Renton, WA)  —  The Seahawks are facing a harsh punishment for failing to disclose Richard Sherman’s knee injury.  ESPN.com reports the Seahawks could lose a second-round pick in this year’s NFL Draft.  The team did not report Sherman’s MCL injury for the bulk of the season.

 

>>Trumbo Returning To O’s

 

(Baltimore, MD)  —  A big bat is returning to Baltimore.  Multiple reports says the Orioles and outfielder Mark Trumbo have agreed to a three-year deal worth just under 40-million dollars.  Trumbo led the majors with 47 home runs last season.

 

>>NFL Championship Games Sunday

 

(Undated)  —  The participants in Super Bowl 51 will be determined on Sunday.  Aaron Rodgers and the Packers face Matt Ryan and the Falcons in the NFC Championship Game in Atlanta.  Tom Brady and the Patriots host Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers in the AFC title game.

 

>>NASCAR Hall Of Fame Inductions Tonight

 

(Charlotte, NC)  —  The NASCAR Hall of Fame welcomes the Class of 2017 in Charlotte.  Richard Childress, Rick Hendrick, Mark Martin, Raymond Parks and Benny Parsons will all be inducted during a ceremony in Charlotte.  It’s the eighth class to be enshrined in NASCAR Hall of Fame history.

 

>>Illinois At Michigan Tomorrow

 

(Ann Arbor, MI)  —  Illinois is in enemy territory tomorrow afternoon taking on Michigan.  The Fighting Illini have lost consecutive games to Maryland and Purdue and four of its last six games overall.  Illinois is 12-and-7 on the season, including 2-and-4 in Big Ten play.  The Wolverines are also 12-and-7 and 2-and-4.
