Illinois EFAB: Schools Need Almost Five-Billion More

(Springfield, IL)  —  School planners outside of the state capitol say Illinois needs to almost double what it spends on elementary and high schools.  The Education Funding Advisory Board yesterday recommended lawmakers increase funding for public schools by just over four-and-a-half-billion-dollars.  EFAB is made up of teacher union leaders and education advocates.  Its recommendation, however, doesn’t say where Illinois is supposed to find the money.
