>>Patriots Trounce Texans On “TNF”


(Foxboro, MA)  —  The Tom Brady-less Patriots are 3-and-0 on the season.  Rookie Jacoby Brissett helped lead the Pats to a 27-0 trouncing of the Texans on “Thursday Night Football.”  Brissett passed for 103 yards and rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown in place of the injured Jimmy Garoppolo and the suspended Brady, who will miss one more game.


>>Brissett Makes History In Win


(Foxboro, MA)  —  Jacoby Brissett made history in last night’s rout of the Texans.  Brissett became the first black quarterback to start under center in franchise history.  His 27-yard touchdown run was the longest by a Patriot QB since Steve Grogan in 1976.


>>Mets Outlast Phillies In 11


(Flushing, NY)  —  Asdrubal Cabrera’s three-run blast in the bottom of the 11th gave the Mets a wild 9-8 win over the Phillies.  New York’s Jose Reyes belted a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to force extras.  The Mets and Giants are tied for the two NL wild card spots with the Cardinals a half-game back.


>>Cardinals At Cubs Today


(Chicago, IL)  —  After a travel day, the Cardinals begin a three-game series against the Cubs this afternoon at Wrigley Field.  It’s the final road series of the regular season for St. Louis.  Mike Leake goes for his 10th win, while Chicago starts 17-game winner Jake Arrieta.  First pitch is at 1 o’clock on ESPN.


>>White Sox Visit Indians


(Cleveland, OH)  —  The White Sox begin a three-game series with the Indians tonight in Cleveland.  It’s Chicago’s final road series of the season.  Miguel Gonzalez toes the rubber in the opener for the Sox.  The Tribe counters with Trevor Bauer.


>>Jordan Reacts To Charlotte Unrest


(Charlotte, NC)  —  Michael Jordan is offering his condolences to the family of a man shot by police in Charlotte.  The NBA great and Hornets owner released a statement calling for the Charlotte community to come together in peaceful demonstration and conversation.  Protests continued in the city last night.


>>Colts Host Chargers Sunday


(Indianapolis, IN)  —  The Colts seek their first win as they host the Chargers on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.  Indianapolis sits at 0-and-2 following losses to Detroit and Denver.  San Diego enters at 1-and-1 after beating Jacksonville last week.  Kick-off is at 3:25 p.m.


>>Bears Clash With Cowboys On “Sunday Night Football”


(Arlington, TX)  —  The Bears head to “Big D” to take on the Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football”.  It’s the second straight primetime game for the Bears, who are coming off a 29-10 loss to the Eagles in their home opener on Monday.  Chicago dropped a 23-14 decision at Houston in Week One.  Dallas is 1-and-1.


>>Chase Playoff Continue Sunday


(Loudon, NH)  —  The Chase for the Sprint Cup playoffs continue with the Bad Boy Off Road 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.  The 300-lap race takes place at 2:00 Sunday afternoon.  It’s the second-of-three Round of 16 races.
