>>Saints Cut RB Spiller

 

(Metairie, LA)  —  Running back C.J. Spiller is looking for a new team.  The 29-year-old has been cut by the Saints.  He was listed as inactive for the team’s Week One matchup with the Raiders.  Spiller agreed to a four-year, 16-million-dollar deal with New Orleans last year.

 

>>Nike Unveils New Monochromatic Color Rush Uniforms

 

(Orchard Park, NY)  —  Nike is making sure colorblind fans will be able to distinguish between NFL teams’ alternate Color Rush uniforms this season.  New monochromatic uniforms have been unveiled for all 32 teams, some of which are all white to avoid confusion for colorblind fans watching on television.

 

>>Cardinals Double Up Cubs

 

(St. Louis, MO)  —  Brandon Moss’ two-run homer in the sixth pushed the Cardinals to a 4-2 win over the Cubs.  Dexter Fowler and Addison Russell drove in the runs for Chicago, which is 5-and-5 in its last 10 games.  Jason Hammel fanned nine, but allowed all four runs to fall to 14-and-9.

 

>>White Sox Smash Indians With Seven-Run Inning

 

(Chicago, IL)  —  The White Sox rode a seven-run sixth to an 8-1 win over the Indians.  Jose Abreu, Todd Frazier and Carlos Sanchez knocked in two runs apiece for Chicago, which has won the first two in the four-game set.  Jose Quintana fired eight innings of one-run ball to improve to 12-and-10.

 

>>Mets Top Nats In 10

 

(Washington, DC)  —  T.J. Rivera’s solo homer in the top of the 10th gave the Mets a 4-3 win over the Nationals.  It was the first career homer for Rivera, who finished with three hits and three RBI.  The Mets remain a half-game ahead of the Cardinals for the second NL Wild Card spot.

 

>>Walker Pitches M’s Past Angels

 

(Anaheim, CA)  —  Taijuan Walker tossed a three-hitter to lead the Mariners to an 8-0 win over the Angels.  Walker struck out 11 and walked none to improve to 6-and-10.  Seth Smith hit a grand slam for Seattle, which has reeled off seven straight wins.

 

>>Scully To Close Out Career Calling Dodgers At Giants

 

(Los Angeles, CA)  —  Vin Scully won’t be calling any Dodger playoff games to end his career.  The veteran broadcaster says he will close out his 67-year tenure as the team’s announcer when the Dodgers end the regular season on October 2nd.  LA is currently in first place in the NL West.

 

>>Bears Gearing Up For Eagles

 

(Lake Forest, IL)  —  The Bears are gearing up for Monday’s home game against the Eagles.  Chicago suffered a 23-14 road loss to the Houston Texans in its season opener last Sunday.  The Bears hold a 29-12-and-1 lead in the all-time series with Philadelphia, but lost the most recent meeting in 2013.

 

>>Colts Gearing Up For Broncos

 

(Indianapolis, IN)  —  The Colts are gearing up for Sunday’s road game against the defending Super Bowl champion Broncos.  Indianapolis suffered a 39-35 home loss to the Lions in its season opener last Sunday.  Colts quarterback Andrew Luck is 3-and-1 against the Broncos in his career.
