The Mt. Zion volleyball team is off to a nice start for the 2016 season as they picked up their second straight win on Thursday night at St. Teresa in straight sets 25-21 and 25-18. The Braves took advantage early on and used that momentum through the entire match. Erin Ripple, Dayna Kennedy and Karlee McAtee carried the offense and the momentum for the team down the stretch in the second set to move the braves to 2-0 on the young season. Freshman Abby Robinson led the way for St. Teresa with five kills and eight assists as the Bulldogs drop to 0-3 on the season. Both teams return action tomorrow with Mt. Zion at the Casey-Westfield Tournament and St. Teresa at the Tiger Classic in O’Fallon.
