The Cubs are reportedly bringing back pitcher Trevor Cahill [[ KAY-hill ]].  ESPN reports the sides have agreed to a one-year deal worth just over four-million dollars.  The 27-year-old Cahill allowed only eight hits in 17 innings after being acquired from the Braves.

 

 

A deal sending Reds closer Aroldis Chapman to the Dodgers is on hold after a report involving allegations of domestic violence surfaced.  Yahoo! Sports reports Chapman shot a gun eight times in his garage after an argument with his girlfriend.  Police reports show she told police Chapman “choked” her and pushed her against a wall during the incident in October.  No arrests were made.

 

 

Mirza Teletovic’s [[ MEER-zuh  tuh-LET-uh-vitch ]] putback with 0.3 seconds left lifted the Suns to a 103-101 win over the Bulls at theUnitedCenter.  Pau Gasol posted 22 points, 10 boards and six assists to pace the Bulls, who have lost two in-a-row for the first time this season.  Jimmy Butler had 19 points and Derrick Rose scored 14 in defeat.  The Bulls visit the Celtics tomorrow.

 

 

The Warriors will look to go 23-and-0 when they take on the Pacers tonight inIndiana.  Off to the best start in NBA history,GoldenStatehas won 26 straight regular-season games dating back to last year.  The Pacers are 12-and-7.

 

 

Nike is signing Cavaliers superstar LeBron James to a lifetime contract.  ESPN reports it’s the largest single athlete guarantee in the sports apparel giant’s 44-year history, although no financial terms have been released.
