(Springfield, IL) — Illinois put the price tag to fix the troubled plumbing at the Quincy veterans home at eight million-dollars just a few years ago. A number of outlets reported yesterday that the state commissioned a report back in 2016 that said Illinois could replace the plumbing at the home where 13 people have died from Legionnaires disease at eight million dollars. That’s far less than the 30 million-dollars that Illinois Department Veterans Affairs managers told lawmakers that it would cost to do the work.
