(Oakland, CA) — Bygones were not bygones when the Raiders and Broncos met on Sunday at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Denver cornerback Aqib Talib ripped the chain off Oakland wide receiver Michael Crabtree’s neck for the second time in two years and full-on brawl erupted. Both players were ejected, along with Raiders guard Gabe Jackson, who was tossed for making contact with an official. Oakland ended up winning the game, 21-14.

(Santa Clara, CA) — The 49ers were given a brief glimpse into the future at the end of their 24-13 loss to the Seahawks at Levi Stadium. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who San Francisco recently acquired in a trade with the Patriots, made his debut. Garoppolo threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Louis Murphy as time expired. He completed both of his throws for 19 yards. Starter. C.J. Beathard was pulled from the game due to a possible head injury.

(Los Angeles, CA) — Jared Goff threw for 354 yards and two touchdowns as the Rams picked up a 26-20 win over the Saints at The Coliseum. Sammy Watkins and Josh Reynolds each caught a TD for Los Angeles, which is 8-and-3. They’re a game ahead of the Seahawks for first in the NFC West. New Orleans fell to 8-and-3. The Saints are tied for first with the Panthers, who they play on Sunday.

(Knoxville, TN) — Things are getting messy with the University of Tennessee’s football program. The Volunteers were expected to name Greg Schiano it’s next head football coach, but that’s no longer the case. Multiple outlets are reporting the deal will not go through after a large volume of fan backlash on social media and on campus. The anger is being directed at Schiano due to an alleged connection to Jerry Sandusky while he was at Penn State.
