Francisco Lindor’s RBI double with two outs in the ninth tied it before Jay Bruce doubled in the winning run in the 10th. The 1916 New York Giants hold the all-time record with 26 consecutive wins.

(St. Louis, MO) — Luke Weaver allowed just two hits and an unearned run in six innings as the Cardinals beat the Reds 5-2 at Busch Stadium. Weaver ran his record to 6-and-1 on the season. Jose Martinez singled in two runs and Tommy Pham hit a two-run homer for St. Louis, which took two-of-three in the series. The Cards have won nine of their last 11.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs completed a three-game sweep of the Mets with a 14-6 rout at Wrigley Field. Jason Heyward homered and plated four runs for Chicago, which outscored New York 39-to-14 in the series. Chicago has a three-game lead on St. Louis and Milwaukee in the NL Central.

(Detroit, MI) — Avisail Garcia went 5-for-5 with a three-run homer and seven RBI as the White Sox mauled the Tigers 17-7. Yoan Moncada added four hits, including a solo homer, as part of Chicago’s 25-hit attack. James Shields pitched six innings of four-run ball to improve to 4-and-6 with the win.

(Cincinnati, OH) — Deshaun Watson is a winner in his first NFL start. The rookie quarterback had a 49-yard touchdown run as the Texans topped the Bengals 13-9 in Cincinnati on “Thursday Night Football.” The Bengals have failed to score a touchdown in 120 minutes of action on their way to an 0-and-2 start.

(Alameda, CA) — Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch is being fined 12-thousand dollars for an obscene gesture. ESPN reports Lynch was hit with the fine after raising both middle fingers during last Sunday’s win over the Titans. It was Lynch’s first regular-season game since coming out of retirement.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Colts welcome former interim coach Bruce Arians and the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday to Lucas Oil Stadium. Arians served as the Colts’ interim head coach in 2012, guiding the team to a 9-and-3 record in place of Chuck Pagano, who was fighting leukemia. The Colts haven’t decided if Jacoby Brissett or Scott Tolzien will start at quarterback, but Andrew Luck is out.

(Tampa, FL) — The Bears hit the road to battle the Buccaneers on Sunday. Chicago opened the year with a 23-17 home loss to the Falcons last Sunday. Mike Glennon, who was drafted by the Bucs and spent his first four seasons in Tampa, will face his former team for the first time. The Bucs beat the Bears 36-10 last year in Tampa.
