According to ESPN, the NBA is looking into whether new president of basketball operations Magic Johnson courted the Los Angeles native too early. The Thunder acquired George from the Pacers this offseason. He will be an unrestricted free agent after the upcoming season.

(Buffalo, NY) — Wide receiver Anquan Boldin isn’t sticking around as the Bills are deciding to change directions. Boldin retired from the NFL after signing a one-year contract less than two weeks ago. Buffalo has since traded top wide receiver Sammy Watkins and cornerback Ronald Darby. The 36-year-old spent his 14-year career with the Cardinals, Ravens, 49ers and Lions.

(Glendale, AZ) — The Bears got their first win of the preseason by sneaking past the Cardinals, 24-23, in Glendale on Saturday. Deonte Thompson returned a missed field goal 109 yards for a touchdown at the end of the first half. Mike Glennon completed 13-of-18 passes for one TD and one interception making the start. Chicago is 1-and-1 and plays its third exhibition game at the Titans on Sunday.

(Indianapolis, IN) — The Colts are back to work following a 24-19 loss to the Cowboys over the weekend. Indianapolis is 0-and-2 this preseason and is still searching for reliable quarterback play with Andrew Luck still out. Stephen Morris was 11-of-14 for 111 yards and a touchdown for Indianapolis in the loss to Dallas. The Colts visit the Steelers on Saturday.

(Chicago, IL) — The Cubs rallied for three runs in the bottom-of-the-10th inning to walk-off the Blue Jays 6-5 at Wrigley Field and complete a three-game sweep. Kyle Schwarber scored on a wild pitch before Alex Avila ended it with a two-run single. Justin Wilson recorded just one-out in the top-half of the 10th to pick up the win.

(Arlington, TX) — Miguel Gonzalez fired six shutout innings as the White Sox topped the Rangers 3-2 in Arlington. Gonzalez struck out six and allowed four hits to improve to 7-and-10. Tyler Saladino belted a two-run double for the White Sox, who pulled out a split in the four-game series with the victory.

(Williamsport, PA) — Josh Bell was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI as the Pirates doubled up the Cardinals 6-3 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Jedd Gyorko had a two-run homer and Yadier Molina piled up three hits and scored two runs in the loss. Mike Leake gave up six runs in three innings to drop to 7-and-12. The Cards are off today before hosting the Padres tomorrow.

(Flushing, NY) — Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton is continuing his chase for 60 home runs. Stanton hit his league-leading 45th blast in Miami’s 6-4 win over the Mets. It was a three-run shot in the seventh inning off New York ace Jacob deGrom.

(Bristol, TN) — Kyle Busch won the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race on Saturday at Bristol Motor Speedway. Busch held off the field to win the Monster Energy Cup Series race and complete a clean sweep of the three NASCAR races at the track this week. Rookie of the year candidate Erik Jones finished second, followed by Denny Hamlin, Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch.

(Greensboro, NC) — Henrik Stenson fired a six-under 64 in Sunday’s final round to win the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro. Stenson finished a course-record 22-under-par for the tournament. Ollie Schniederjans came in second at 21-under, while Webb Simpson finished third at minus-18.
