(Chicago, IL) — Three Chicago police officers are facing charges after prosecutors say they lied to protect a fellow cop. A special prosecutor yesterday announced the charges against Detective David March and patrol Officers Thomas Gaffney and Joseph Walsh for what they said in the aftermath of the Laquan McDonald shooting back in 2014. Prosecutors say the three lied to make the officer who shot McDonald appear to more credible. The three officers are facing obstruction of justice and official misconduct charges.
