(Springfield, IL) — It’s looking less and less likely that Illinois lawmakers will have a budget by the end of the day tomorrow. Democrats in the Illinois House say they can’t find enough votes for the five-and-a-half billion dollars in tax increases that are at the heart of the Senate budget. But it might not matter if lawmakers meet the May 31st deadline. State Representative Dan Brady says lawmakers really have until June 30th to try to find a budget that both Republicans and Democrats can agree to.
