(Washington, DC) — The Warriors are holding their breath after losing one of their stars. Kevin Durant exited less than a minute into last night’s 112-108 loss to the Wizards after hyperextending his left knee. Results of an MRI are expected to be revealed today.

(Oklahoma City, OK) — Russell Westbrook did it all as the Thunder trimmed the Jazz 109-106 in Oklahoma City. Westbrook scored 12 of his 43 points in the final 2:05. He also put up his 30th triple-double of the season with 11 rebounds and 10 assists. OKC has won seven of its last 10 games.

(Indianapolis, IN) — Colts tight end Jack Doyle is entering the NFL free agent market. Doyle passed on the offer Indy came to the table with for a potential contract extension. The tight end will be able to begin negotiating with other teams when free agency starts on March 9th. Doyle, an Indianapolis native, finished second on the team in receptions, targets, yards and first-down receptions last season.

(Ashburn, VA) — The Redskins are using the franchise tag on quarterback Kirk Cousins for the second straight year. The 28-year-old set a franchise-record with 4,917 passing yards in 2016. He will receive nearly 24-million dollars next season if a long-term deal isn’t reached by July 15th.

(Eden Prairie, MN) — The Vikings are declining their 2017 option on Adrian Peterson’s contract. The 31-year-old running back will become a free agent next month. Meanwhile, the Chiefs have cut fellow running back Jamaal Charles. The Jets are also parting ways with cornerback Darrelle Revis.

(Mesa, AZ) — The Cubs suffered a 7-5 loss to the Angels in Cactus League play yesterday. Addison Russell hit his second homer of the spring for Chicago. Maikel Cleto allowed four runs in less than an inning to take the loss. The Cubs face the Royals this afternoon.

(Goodyear, AZ) — The White Sox split a pair of split-squad Cactus League games yesterday. The White Sox edged the Reds, 10-9, in Glendale. Leury Garcia went 3-for-4 with a run and four RBI in the win. The other squad suffered an 8-1 loss to the Mariners in Surprise. Chicago hosts Arizona today.

(Lake Buena Vista, FL) — Mike Leake threw three perfect innings, but the Cardinals were shut out 2-0 by the Braves at Champion Field. Robby Rowland gave up a two-run double to Brandon Phillips in the fourth to take the loss. Magneuris Sierra went 3-for-4 in defeat. The Cardinals host the Mets today.

(Chicago, IL) — Nikola Jokic posted his third triple-double of the season as the Nuggets ran by the Bulls 125-107 in Chicago. Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade had 19 points apiece for Chicago, which had won its previous four. Jimmy Butler had only eight points on 3-of-13 shooting in defeat. The Bulls host the Warriors tomorrow.
>>Blues Edged By Oilers
(St. Louis, MO) — Mark Letestu scored the go-ahead goal early in the second period as the Oilers edged the Blues 2-1 at Scottrade Center. Paul Stastny had the lone goal for St. Louis in the first. The Blues still hold the second wild card in the West with 67 points. They skate in Winnipeg on Friday.
>>Blackhawks Sign Rozsival, Tootoo To 1-Year Extensions
(Chicago, IL) — The Blackhawks are bringing back defenseman Michal Rozsival and winger Jordin Tootoo next season. The ‘Hawks have signed both players to one-year contract extensions. The 38-year-old Rozsival has one goal and one assist in 51 games this season. The 34-year-old Tootoo hasn’t recorded a point in 36 contests.
>>Richmond Baseball Players Suspended Over Fantasy Football
(Richmond, VA) — The NCAA is ruling five Richmond baseball players ineligible due to playing in a fantasy football league. The “Richmond Times-Dispatch” reports the players’ participation were secondary violations. The NCAA considers fantasy sports contests with an entry fee to be a form of sports wagering and is off-limits to student-athletes.

(Champaign, IL) — Illinois plays its regular-season home finale tonight against Michigan State. The Fighting Illini are coming off Sunday’s win at Nebraska and have won three in-a-row and four of their last five games. Illinois is 17-and-12 overall and 7-and-9 in the Big Ten. The Spartans come in at 18-and-11.
