Polls are open across Illinois on Election Day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters are deciding races for U.S. Senate, Congress, governor, statewide offices, state legislative seats, and local positions. More than 50 local tax and borrowing questions are also on ballots statewide, including sales tax referendums in Adams, Lake, and Tazewell counties. Election officials remind voters that campaigning is not allowed within 100 horizontal feet of a polling place. Churches, places of worship, and private schools used as voting sites may declare their entire property campaign-free. Voters should check their registration and polling location before heading out.
