The Salvation Army says 52 people in Macon County have benefited from programs designed to help individuals and families achieve greater stability and independence through September.
The Pathway of Hope and Supportive Housing programs provided case management and support services to 15 households. Those households included 10 families participating in Pathway of Hope, along with two single men and three single women enrolled in the Supportive Housing Program.
The programs served 20 adults and 32 children. Staff also made 28 referrals to community resources and recorded 38 contacts with clients through in-person meetings, phone calls, text messages and emails.
The Salvation Army will recognize six participants during its second Pathway of Hope and Supportive Housing graduation ceremony of the year on October 15. Four families from Pathway of Hope and two individuals from the Supportive Housing Program will be honored for meeting their program goals.
The ceremony will include remarks from graduates, including an Army veteran who participated in Pathway of Hope and will share their experience with the program.
“Every graduation represents lives transformed through hard work, determination, and support,” said Andrea Lewin, case manager for the programs. “We are honored to walk alongside families and individuals as they overcome challenges, achieve their goals, and create lasting change for themselves and their children.”
The Salvation Army continues to accept referrals and interview potential participants for both programs.
Pathway of Hope helps families with children work toward long-term financial stability through individualized goals, coaching and support services. The Supportive Housing Program also provides assistance to help participants address challenges and work toward greater independence.
