HSHS Medical Group has welcomed Dr. Michael V. Comerford, a board-certified physician in internal medicine and pediatrics, to its Family and Internal Medicine office at 176 West Mound Road in Decatur.
Comerford provides primary care for patients of all ages, from newborns through adults. He treats chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, provides preventive care and screenings, and treats acute illnesses.
Because he is trained in both internal medicine and pediatrics, Comerford can provide care for children and adults in the same family.
HSHS says Comerford focuses on clear communication and patient education. He also speaks fluent Spanish.
Comerford earned bachelor’s degrees in biology and psychology from Saint Louis University. He received his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine and pediatrics residency at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics, where he served as chief resident.
He is board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
