DECATUR, Ill. — Several Central Illinois teams were in action Monday night, with Mt. Zion and St. Teresa picking up boys soccer victories while Sullivan, Maroa-Forsyth, Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City and Hartsburg-Emden earned volleyball wins.
Mt. Zion turned in the most dominant soccer performance of the night, shutting out Lincoln 6-0.
St. Teresa also came away with a victory, edging Riverton/Tri-City 3-2 in a closely contested matchup.
MacArthur/Eisenhower had a tougher night on the road, falling to Cornerstone Christian Academy 9-2.
On the volleyball court, Sullivan swept Monticello in straight sets, winning 25-23, 25-14.
Maroa-Forsyth earned a three-set victory over Clinton, taking the match 2-1.
Central A&M fell on the road to Cowden-Herrick/Beecher City in two sets. CHBC won the opener 25-18 before closing out the match 25-19.
C. Robertson led Central A&M with four kills, eight assists and five digs, while M. Metzger added four kills and two aces.
Warrensburg-Latham also dropped a straight-set match, falling 2-0 to Hartsburg-Emden.
Several of the teams will have quick turnarounds as the Central Illinois fall sports schedule continues throughout the week.
