Passenger Killed, Driver Facing Charges In Weekend Forsyth Crash

Investigators have released new details about a deadly holiday weekend crash in Forsyth. Macon County deputies were called to Illiniwick Drive Sunday just before 2 p.m. after reports of a pickup driving erratically and speeding before it crashed. The driver, a 63-year-old woman, was airlifted to Saint John’s Hospital in Springfield with critical, life-threatening injuries. Her passenger has been identified as 53-year-old Michael Spencer, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The sheriff’s office says the driver was impaired and will face charges once she is released from the hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
