President Trump is backing a federal tax incentive aimed at boosting film and television production in the U.S. In a Truth Social post, Trump said he wants Republicans and Democrats to “immediately craft legislation” to help save the American movie, TV, and entertainment industry. The move follows his previous threats to impose a 100-percent tariff on films made overseas. Motion Picture Association CEO Charles Rivkin praised the statement, saying a national incentive could bring more productions to communities across all 50 states and strengthen the economy. The proposal now depends on whether Congress can turn the idea into legislation.
