State Behavioral Health Office Releases New Report

Illinois officials are outlining new steps to strengthen behavioral health care across the state. The Chief Behavioral Health Office has released a report called The Care Compass, focusing on three main priorities: expanding access to high-quality mental health and substance use services, building up the behavioral health workforce, and improving how data is collected, reported, and monitored. The Department of Human Services says the plan is designed to guide continued improvements in a system already undergoing change. State leaders say better coordination and stronger workforce support are key to helping more Illinois residents get timely care when they need it.
