University of Illinois Begins Search for Next President

The University of Illinois System is launching a nationwide search for its next president. The Board of Trustees announced Monday it is seeking a successor to Tim Killeen, who plans to step down at the end of June next year. Killeen has led the system for more than a decade, serving as its 20th president. The university system includes campuses in Urbana-Champaign, Chicago, and Springfield, with a major footprint across the state. Trustees say the search will focus on finding a leader prepared to guide research, enrollment, and public service priorities into the future.
