Decatur Police have identified the teenager shot and killed Monday night as 16-year-old Marlone Dishman.
Officers were called to a home in the 100 block of South Westdale Avenue shortly after 9:30 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, they found Dishman suffering from a gunshot wound. Police also found an 18-year-old man at the scene who had a facial laceration.
Both individuals were taken to Decatur Memorial Hospital for treatment. Dishman later died from his injuries.
Investigators say the shooting appears to have been a targeted attack. At this time, police say there is no known ongoing threat to the public.
The investigation remains active, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be reported to the Decatur Police Department or submitted anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
