The Consumer Product Safety Commission says Greenworks Tools is recalling several Kobalt outdoor power tools because of a fire risk linked to their USB-C batteries. The recall covers 24-volt and 48-volt trimmers, blowers, mowers, chain saws, and pruning saws sold nationwide at Lowe’s from January through May of 2026. Officials say the danger can occur when the lithium-ion batteries are charged through the USB-C port while still inserted in the tool, which may cause a short circuit. Consumers should stop using the USB-C charging method immediately and check the CPSC recall notice for remedy details.
