The City of Maroa has named Michael Donaker as its new police chief. City officials say Donaker was appointed following the resignation of former Chief Robert Fitzgerald. Donaker brings nearly three decades of law enforcement experience to the role, including service with the Decatur Police Department dating back to 1998. His appointment marks a leadership transition for Maroa’s police department as the city moves forward with public safety operations under new command. Officials have not released additional details about Fitzgerald’s resignation or when Donaker will formally begin his duties, but the city says the appointment is now in place.
