DECATUR, Ill. — As central Illinois prepares for the potential of severe weather later today, several organizations have announced schedule changes.
Chief Judge Thomas Griffith and Macon County Board Chairman Kevin Greenfield said the Macon County Courthouse and all Macon County government buildings will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday out of an abundance of caution.
Lake Land College also announced it will close at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The closure includes all classes, activities, and events scheduled after that time.
Additionally, tonight’s Decatur Bean Ballers game has been postponed due to the forecasted weather conditions.
The schedule changes come as forecasters continue to monitor the threat of severe thunderstorms across central Illinois this afternoon and evening.
Residents are encouraged to stay weather aware, monitor forecasts and warnings, and be prepared to take action if severe weather develops.
