Illinois Banning Sale of Intoxicating Hemp to Minors

Illinois is moving to keep intoxicating hemp products out of the hands of minors. Governor J.B. Pritzker has signed a new measure that immediately bans sales of those products to anyone under 21. The law covers items containing compounds such as Delta-8, THC-P, and HHC. Supporters say the action follows growing concern over young people ingesting products that may be misleadingly marketed, poorly labeled, or packaged in ways that resemble candy or snacks. State officials say the goal is to close a gap in consumer protections while broader hemp regulations continue to be debated.
