IL AG: “We Were Shorted About $10 Million”

Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul reports his office will receive $10 million less than expected from its total state budget appropriation for 2026. Speaking at the City Club of Chicago, Raoul explained that while there’s a $5 million increase in general funds, his office faces an overall $10 million shortfall under the budget passed just after 3 a.m. on June 1.
