Residents of Decatur will have the opportunity to engage with local public safety leaders during a special panel discussion organized by the Coalition of Neighborhood Organizations. The event brings together Decatur Fire Chief Neil Elder, Macon County Sheriff Jim Root, Police Chief Brad Allen, and a representative from the State’s Attorney’s Office. Attendees can submit questions directly to these officials, addressing concerns about safety and emergency response. The discussion takes place at the Decatur Public Library’s Children’s Auditorium on Saturday, April 11, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Admission is free, and two NOAA weather radios will be given away as door prizes.
