A Decatur man has received a seven-year prison sentence for attempted sexual assault at a local grocery store. Kerion Overstreet, age 26, attacked a woman at the Save-A-Lot on William Street last July. Security footage shows the incident, which was also witnessed by several shoppers who intervened to help the victim. In addition to the attempted sexual assault charge, Overstreet was given a four-year sentence for battery. Both sentences will be served at the same time. Authorities say the quick actions of bystanders played a crucial role in stopping the attack and supporting the investigation.
