State police have released video footage related to the death of Ty Doolen, who died in Decatur police custody last month. Officers responded to a call on February 24th on East Corman Street, finding Doolen in distress. Authorities determined he required medical assistance and placed him in non-arrest police custody for transport to the hospital. During the incident, Doolen reportedly resisted officers and showed signs of respiratory distress. He later died at the hospital. After conducting their investigation, state police will now hand over the case to the Macon County State’s Attorney’s Office for review and possible further action.
