62-year-old Decatur Woman Injured in Hit-and-Run

A 62-year-old Decatur woman is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a hit-and-run early Tuesday. Police say officers responded shortly after 2:20 a.m. to Oakland Avenue and Eldorado Street, where a 2013 Dodge Durango struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene. Authorities have since located the suspect vehicle, according to a statement from Lt. Jon Quehl of the Decatur Police Department. The Fatal Accident Investigation Team, along with the Criminal Investigations Unit, is examining the circumstances of the crash. Anyone with information is urged to contact police at 217-424-2711.
