The Illinois Manufacturers’ Association has kicked off its 2026 Makers Madness contest, searching for “The Coolest Thing Made in Illinois.” Nominations for any product manufactured within the state are open until March 8 on the official website makersmadnessil.com. Once nominations close, voting opens March 10, with the public helping to narrow down the field to the Top 16 products in a bracket-style competition. The enthusiasm will build throughout the contest and finish in Springfield, where the ultimate winner will be crowned at an awards ceremony on April 15. Illinois innovators and inventors are invited to showcase their creations.
