Illinois Calls for Year-Round E15 Fuel

The State of Illinois is calling on Congress and the Trump administration to require year-round sales of E15 fuel.  Governor Pritzker sent a letter to Congressional leadership in November urging nationwide, year-round E15.  The governor said agriculture is the number one industry in Illinois and that state farmers have the potential to fuel the world.  He added that E15 enhances the nation’s energy supply, helps the economy, and supports a cleaner environment all at once.  Illinois is the second largest producer of corn in the nation, and a year-round requirement for E15 would increase demand for corn by two billion bushels a year.
