Illinois officials have unveiled “EngAging Illinois: A Comprehensive Plan for Living Well,” aiming to meet the needs of a rapidly growing senior population. Developed through collaboration among 15 state agencies and guided by a 25-member advisory council, the plan addresses healthcare, housing, and caregiver support. The Department on Aging highlights the urgency, as Illinois expects a 40% surge in residents over age 65 by 2035. Key recommendations include improving long-term care options and enhancing access to community services.
